PATCH TEST
You MUST patch test on a small area of the skin 24-72 hours before you plan to use the peeling serum. This helps to determine if you have any allergic reactions or sensitivities with the product.
- Apply a small amount of product on your skin (inside of your wrist or inner arm or near the jawline beneath the ear) and leave it on for 10 minutes, then rise it off with water.
- Wait for 48 hours to see if there is a reaction.
- Check the area at 72 hours after appliction to see if you have a delayed reaction.
- If no reactions, move forward with the peel. It is recommended to use this product as a night time treatment.
PRE-PEEL PREPARATION PROTOCOL
- Cleanse skin thoroughly by removing all makeup with a gentle facial cleanser. Rinse thoroughly and pat skin dry.
- Saturate a cotton pad (for a gentle prep) or cotton gauze (for a more aggressive prep) with Chemical Peel Prep Solution. Wipe in one direction or circular motion the entire area of the skin where peel will be applied. Repeat until the cotton pad or cotton gauze is clean. Do not rinse. Allow skin to dry. Do not apply peeling serum to damp skin.
APPLY PEELING SERUM
- Shake peel bottle well before use. Apply Chemical Peel Serum with cotton pad or gauze. Begin at the forehead and down the face. DO NOT rub or massage the peel serum, just apply topically, making sure your skin is covered nicely.
- Salicylic Acid Peel is applied in coats/layers. More coats, more exfoliation/peeling.
- Watch your skin and not just the clock. When your skin is turning pink, it is time to rinse your skin abundantly and thoroughly with gentle facial cleanser and cool water (not hot, not warm). DO NOT leave the peel serum on your face for more than 5 minutes total. Always start with lesser time then as you become accustomed to the peel strength, the timing can be increased (no more than 5 minutes total).
- Gently pat the skin dry.
- Salicylic Acid does not require neutralization.
NOURISH YOUR SKIN
Simplify your skincare routine. Nourish your skin with serum and moisturizer containing important ingredients such as ceramides, fatty acids, cholesterol, hyaluronic acid, and peptides to help restore the protective skin barrier.
No benzoyl peroxide, retinoids, vitamin c, azelaic acid, kojic acid, hydroquinone, sulfur, witch hazels. Avoid actives, harsh, stripping products. Avoid too many products at one time. Use fragrance-free products.
SUNSCREEN WITH SPF 50 OR HIGHER
Avoid sun exposure, but if cannot be avoided, ALWAYS use an SPF of at least 50% or higher (preferably mineral sunscreen) before going outdoors. It is important to protect your skin from the sun after chemical peel to prevent blotchy patches and irregular skin coloring.
Best results with a series of 4-6 treatments repeated every 2-4 weeks depending on the condition of your skin.
