Contraindications for AHA & BHA Treatment

  • Allergies or sensitivities to sugarcane, lactic acid and almonds for AHA.
  • Allergies or sensitivities to aspirin or salicylic acids for BHA.
  • Pregnant or lactating/nursing.
  • Current antibiotic use, topical or oral.
  • Accutane or Isotretinoin use within 12 months.
  • Open wounds, cold sores, or other infections.
  • Poor wound healing response (cancer, diabetic, autoimmune disorders). It is safe to get an approval from your doctor before receiving or starting a chemical peel treatment.
  • Irritated skin
  • A rash of any kind
  • Sunburn or recently tanned skin/sun exposure
  • Dermatitis
  • Eczema
  • Vaccine within the last 2 weeks.
